CEO of LLC Sortavala Sawmill Roman Aleshin told about the sawmill and plans for the future.
- In 2016, the volume of production of lumber amounted to 38 500 m3, according to the forecast for 2017 production will increase to 40 000 m3, which is only 45% of the potential capacity of the sawmill. The company employs 60 people, mostly residents of Sortavala district, the average age of employees is less than 30 years. At the moment we are implementing an investment project of the construction of a drying complex. The aim of this project is to expand markets, increase workplaces and tax deductions, - Roman Aleshin told.

The acting Head of the Republic of Karelia Artur Parfenchikov noted the competitiveness of products, as well as the fact that such a format of waste-free production, which is introduced at the sawmill, was instructed to develop by the President of the Russian Federation during his visit to the Republic of Karelia in July 2017.
